One way to free yourself from anxiety is to understand that anxiety is caused by: The anticipation of something that has not happened yet. This means that you have labeled something dangerous with fears of no escape. You possibly have taken this with an association with a past or current event, and applied your fears. First, understand that your fear is based in some form of helplessness. Think about a realistic goal to act on a resolution of past events. Fear is based on fear itself and not a current reality. You can help yourself by what they call desensitizing. This means slow exposure to something you fear a little bit at a time. This helps you and your body understand that nothing bad is going to happen to you. Since the anxiety is the fear, you would positively expose yourself to something much safer. Then realize that something bad is NOT going to hurt you. There are many circumstances to this. Do not expose yourself to a known real unsafe situation. But you can get a plan in those situations that can change the fear into support.
